A man in unincorporated Antioch in Illinois was charged on Tuesday with shooting and killing his neighbor over a noisy leaf blower earlier this month. 59-year-old William Martys was working in his yard with a leaf blower when he was shot in the head and killed during an argument with his neighbor, 79-year-old Ettore Lacchei, who the Lake County Sheriff's Office said had "various perceived grievances" with Martys.
So you think lawn culture will collapse when lawn service workers are forced to sweep sidewalks and driveways? Talk about attacking the superstructure.
I'll attack whatever I goddamn feel like. Fuck leafblowers.
And the capitalist will thank you for wasting your effort on meaningless things like whether e-waste or gas guzzlers are the better consumer and environmental choice.
"You're not allowed to be mad about something unless abolishing it would end every problem it connects to or epitomizes." Following your logic, the Czar shouldn't have been killed because counter revolutionaries would rise up anyway.
Fine. Be a weirdo that takes away treats and otherwise inconveniences the suburbanites for zero gain. No reactionary or fascist will ever take advantage of such a forced error. Trust me bro.
What the fuck are you talking about? "We dislike leaf blowers because they are bad for the environment and part of a reactionary mindset." zero policies or plans are discussed "your movement based around banning leaf blowers will result in fascism." Touch grass without using a lawn mower.
Banning consumer goods or shaming consumers and workers for using them is equally reactionary. Almost as bad as shooting a leafblower operator.
See, I really want to say this is a bit, but literally every other post reads as genuine.
See I really want to say you're a bot, and literally your response gets triple upvoted within seconds so it probably is.
You are literally comparing complaining about something which is bad, without even a hint of action behind it, to killing a man. You are suggesting if some magic apolitical suburbanite saw this post they would instantly support pogroms and an ethnostate based solely on this. You are suggesting disliking a tool is reactionary because some workers use it. You're using up votes as an argument. What a silly discussion.
Something which is bad? Like plastic straws and Big Gulps? The left makes fun of libs for their performative bans on venial vices that needlessly alienated the apolitical working class. Hexbear is becoming more liberal by the day. I bet you're an anarcho-bidenist too.
The treat defender, ladies, gentlemen, and all others. I have, need I say it once more, never called for a ban or suggested any action. I just fucking hate them. But you apparently are so concerned with joe the plumber who can't live without his leaf blower he'll use once a year, and definitely not your own lawn, that you'll butcher the imagined threat to your property lest the American leftist movement gets coopted by pro lawn sentiment.

Banning leaf blowers wouldn’t make being a lawn care worker meaningfully harder, it would just take longer and therefor be more expensive.
If it’s more expensive for suburbanites to hire people to take care of their lawns, good.
I too remember when the luddites smashed all the power looms and defeated the industrial revolution once and for all.
No but I remember when we banned lead in gasoline because despite how good it makes cars run, the negative effects to human life were too great.
Much smaller scale, but the utility of leaf blowers does not justify the noise and pollution they create in nearly any situation
Yes, that would be a very stupid thing to say if anyone had actually said it.
About as smart as starting a struggle session over electric or gas cars. Some workers have homes they don't want confiscated by the zealous HOA over unpaid fines and fees and don't have time to sweep and rake to appease extremely online posters.
This is a niche flavor of :bait:, I'll give you that
