The Sisters, also referred to as the Sisters Olive Trees of Noah, are one of the if not the oldest olive trees in history.

The Sisters are not just one tree. They are composed of a grove of sixteen olive trees, in the Lebanese town of Bcheale also known as (Bchaaleh, Bchealeh, Bechealeh or Bshaaleh). These trees are ancient, but they continue to produce olives.

The local folklore says that these trees are anywhere between 5,000 and 6,000 years old. If proven, this might make The Sisters the oldest non-clonal living trees in the world. However, proving their exact age is more difficult than it seems.

Normally, the age of a tree can be proven with some margin of error thanks to dendrochronology. Dendrochronology inspects the tree rings within a tree’s trunk in order to estimate its’ age. However, as these trees are so old, their inner structures have deteriorated to the point where it’s impossible to accurately tell their age. On the other hand, that alone proves just how old these trees are, and scientists agree that they must be above 5,000 years old.

The Sisters (are attribtued) as the source of the olive branch returned to Noah's Ark at the waning of the Biblical Flood. The trees still produce olives, and a preservation effort was undertaken by the non-profit organization Sisters Olive Oil, which marketed oil from these olives.

Part of it (for me) is switching to a road bike with air in the tires and lube on the chain. I rode a mountain bike plenty as a kid, but I don't know if I ever rode more than 5 miles because a mountain bike especially with iffy air/lube is not conducive to speed or distance on roads or paved paths.

Oh shit I'm not sure I have ever lubed the chain on my bike even once and this totally reminded me I should do this now. From where I sit inside of thiis parked Mazda , I can make out the red plastic of the nozzle so I have no excuse ..

Basically ignore this,I'm really only commenting so I remember to finally follow thru . Lmao

I ride that thing for at least several miles and usually every day since I donot have a car or at least one I can drive . Why would a mountain bike have no air in the tires ? Don't all bikes have air inside their tires

i meant that when i rode a mountain bike as a kid i didn't fill the tires regularly so they were often low on pressure

If you cycle everyday, your legs might be sore from the lack of a break, but I think you'll get used to the muscle use in a week or two. I also started cycling (in 2021) after not doing it for years and within a month or two I was regularly doing 15-20 miles, now I can do 50 miles
