I feel like the whole hand washing thing is a big psyop or something. Isn't covid like almost only spread through aerosols that you breath in? Obviously you should be keeping hands clean just in general because almost everything you touch is gross, but does covid actually spread on your hands if you aren't recklessly rubbing your face or like, handling food with dirty hands?
Maybe I'm just lucky but my main strategy of not getting covid is just masking and most importantly, distancing/avoiding other people's immediate airways whenever possible. It's insane to me that wherever you go in public there are a FUCK ton of visibly sick people (WHO SHOULD BE FUCKING HOME TO BEGIN WITH), and no one reacts when they cough?????? Like I'm getting at least 20 meters away from that person at all costs or walking through that area with holding my breath. Literally this meme but for unmasked people
Even before covid the first thing I do when I get home is wash my hands, solely on the basis of the number of people I've seen not wash their hands after using a public restroom.
Many years ago I was in a restroom at the Akron, Ohio airport. A guy came out of a stall and walked to the sink, where he did not wash his hands but picked up his half-eaten sandwich and immediately left the restroom, eating said sandwich.
So wash your hands, wash your surfaces, wear masks if you share a household with someone infected, do air out frequently (not permanently) and get vaccines.
I was watching an anime the other day where this act of basic courtesy occurred (giving artistic license to the sneeze itself) and I was simultaneously pleased at the display but angry that apparently nobody in my fucking country can understand the concept of protecting not just themselves, but the people around them.

There's a Gintama episode where Gintoki has a cold and masks up.
Afaik covid doesn't really spread from surface contact in any meaingful way and that has been known for years.
