Andor: :powercry-2: I’m a big baby the Empire can torture and kill all my friends and family I’m gonna run away.
Brasso: :gigachad-hd: Fuck the Empire.
i want to say the show-don't-tell and heavy use of subtlety / implications is characteristic of tony gilroy. i dunno if you've ever seen Michael Clayton--the first movie gilroy directed & wrote won him academy awards for best director and best screenplay, lmao guy hits a homerun on his first at bat--but i recommend it to anybody.
i'd describe it as a relatively standard corporate conspiracy flick, except for the fact that it feels extremely real with layered characters, messy lives, sharp pacing, and more. like andor, the way it's told makes a lot of other stories seem silly/hack.
