Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died this evening surrounded by her family at her home in Washington, D.C., due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer. She was 87 years old.— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) September 18, 2020
Can't wait to see how quickly the Dems fold on the replacement
COVID must have disrupted her adrenochrome supply. :thinkin-lenin:
But seriously, why didn't she step down under Obama? She was in her 80s then, memaw isn't fit to decide laws that hundreds of millions have to live under.
According to her Wiki page, she felt that the "political climate" at the time wouldn't have allowed Democrats to appoint a "like-minded jurist." Which is bullshit, considering they controlled the Senate at the time, and could have rammed a confirmation through with minimal effort. If they weren't controlled opposition, anyway. But I digress.
the dems coulda appointed a full blown commie if they wanted to. Having house senate and supreme court (and presidential seat) is INFINITE fucking power
I read that she also didn't want to retire until she had been on the court for like 23 years because that's the longest term a supreme court justice has ever served
