please. i'm sick of people calling me a corn syrup-brained tomatocel, i am not I AM NOT :kitty-cri: :kitty-cri-screm:
My family calls hoisin sauce "Chinese ketchup" and that makes absolutely no sense to me but take from it what you will.
the first time i tried sriracha i ate it nonstop with noodles for like 2 weeks
I haven't been able to find anything that tastes like the green cap bottle with a chicken and I'm mad
me when no treats
:deeper-sadness:
Trader Joe's store brand sriracha is the closest I've found. Strong "wtf this taste like sour carrots" note on the first bite, then settles down to tasting roughly the same and maybe 80% as good.
My go-to replacement though is Lucky Foods' confusingly-named Seoul Kimchi Hot Sauce, which doesn't really taste anything like sriracha sauce, but works on all the same dishes.
That weird processed American salsa, tostitos or pace or mission or whatever
Try them with mayo with a little of your favorite hot sauce mixed in
Or if you're like me, a lot of your favorite hot sauce
honestly tobasco is something that i would probably mix with another sauce. Mostly looking for something i can add to potatoes
If you're willing to be mocked for francophilia, mayo goes well with any kind of fried potato.
And you can just add stuff to mayo like hot sauce or other extra flavors to make it a bit different each itme.
Would you suggest homemade or store-bought tartar sauce? And for homemade, should it be made when you need it, or does it store well?
My supermarket has four brands of tartar sauce, so shouldn't be too hard for people to find in America.
