Foreign press seems to be a thing that actually makes him mad, like last week when he told Trudeau to his face to not go around misrepresenting conversations to Canadian newspapers. He's also the head of a large country so it's very unlikely he doesn't understand what a trans or gay person is. I'd like to think positively. I've talked to trans people in China and low-key id fucking love radio silence over what we have in America. Will say that by the metrics for QOL it's basically the same as America according to LGBT groups in Shanghai and Beijing. Maybe slightly better because it isn't on many peoples radar

I don't think Putin really gives a shit either way on gay rights. He just isn't interested enough to prevent gay people being murdered. But I also think that the only way Russia is going to get gay rights is an internal Russian movement.
