The only outright hostile things I've ever heard Xi say have been against corrupt party officials and the foreign press. He's got a reputation for otherwise being very polite. Handshake, nod, smile kind of guy.

Foreign press seems to be a thing that actually makes him mad, like last week when he told Trudeau to his face to not go around misrepresenting conversations to Canadian newspapers. He's also the head of a large country so it's very unlikely he doesn't understand what a trans or gay person is. I'd like to think positively. He'd probably find it interesting that so many English speaking foreigners have an interest in Marxism.

Xi generally seems polite with people he meets. If he stumbled into our annual HexBear Convention, I doubt it'd be acrimonious

Ok? Palestine would be an Islamic fundamentalist state if Israel were to be uncolonized. I would have no rights there. I still support their liberation.

See this is why you dig deeper, the third biggest party there is leftist.

One big reason the Palestinian Liberation Movement isn't overwhelmingly communist is that the Israelis went extra hard on Palestinian communists. Remember that whenever someone talks about Hamas being reactionary.

Well yeah, most communists still technically think homosexuality is a bourgeois excess. Third world Maoism is social conservative in nature, it’s not like that in the west due to intersectionality.

so what he's a competent leader of a foreign government not a prophet. Being as I've never met him and never will and he doesn't know who I am I can't say I value his opinion of me as a person as particularly weighty

My lifestyle may be undermining the foundations of society, but I live in America so I'm undermining the foundations of American society. It's a double negative.

How do you live knowing you're under a rock and that fact doesn't slow you even slightly in making declarations about what is beyond it?

Can we consider it both a policy failure and a bit chauvinist of Xi to do so little for LBGT people? Sure! I haven't seen evidence that that means he personally dislikes them. With Putin it's hard to tell if he personally gives a shit, but he certainly wants his base to think he does considering all the shitty homophobic quips he leaves in his speeches. Xi I think is just silent on the issue.

I've talked to trans people in China and low-key id fucking love radio silence over what we have in America. Will say that by the metrics for QOL it's basically the same as America according to LGBT groups in Shanghai and Beijing. Maybe slightly better because it isn't on many peoples radar

Younger generation has like 80% support for LGBT people and the party has been big on bringing in younger cadres earlier so it's a matter of time for a turn around

Also Im framing this from 2-3 years ago before Florida started a genocide against trans people.

100% agree, though being better than America's current hell of Groomer Discourse and legislated genocide is not a high bar to clear . . .

I don't think Putin really gives a shit either way on gay rights. He just isn't interested enough to prevent gay people being murdered. But I also think that the only way Russia is going to get gay rights is an internal Russian movement.

Western support for gay rights around the world largely consists of articles along the lines of "this is Bob he lives in Uganda and is a secretly gay man risking execution if found he lives at 123 police-read-this street at the corner of this-article-will-get-him-killed avenue"

Don't forget infiltrating student movements to support color revolution, thereby damaging relationships between the state and student movements

Idk boomers tend to like me cause I'm polite and friendly to them and if I met Xi I would probably just offer to do things for the nice old man instead of trying to talk politics.

I have a feeling hes a smile and nod guy. He was essentially a plumber and had shit blasted in his face regularly prior to being a hotshot in the party. After being caked in human shit regularly, I figure your tolerance level is high
