Joe Simps for the D biden-horror : CPUSA co-chair Sims: Fighting fascist threat a top priority Peoples world Article

Excerpts:

CHICAGO – “The battle lines are clear. We’re fighting a fascist danger at home and a genocidal war abroad. And to defeat the danger at home, we’ve got to defeat the war abroad.” CPUSA co-chair Joe Sims gave this warning on June 7, as he keynoted the 32nd National Convention of the Communist Party USA.

Sims also spoke of the “raw racism at the very heart of MAGA,” and added, “Immigrants are a special target.

“First, they tried the wall,” Sims said of Trump’s scheme to keep migrants from entering the U.S. across the Mexican border. “Then the Muslim ban, now they’re planning concentration camps. That’s right, we said it. And if they come for immigrants in the morning, they’re damn sure coming for us at noon.

But we’re not at fascism yet, of course, Sims said. And that moment of respite – for however long it lasts – means that for now, “There is room for struggle. Let us use that space to fight for a ceasefire in Gaza and for an end to the war in Ukraine. Let us use it to stop the expansion of NATO, end the blockade of Cuba, and bring the Cold War against China to a close.

He then turned to the historic question the Communist movement has always asked, “What, then, is to be done?”

you are not him dennis-stare

As Sims spoke to wild peals of applause, he said, “On the one side, there’s the ruling class forces of white supremacy and MAGA pulling the country apart. On the other, there’s the working-class forces of democracy pulling the country together.”

I really hope that others will give the CPUSA a chance and I may be able to answer some questions within good faith.

I understand that the community here is very anti-CPUSA and I hope that I can sway some people to help understand the org better.

    Thanks!

CPUSA has a lot of baggage compared with PSL or FRSO which plays into the distaste I think. If it's the only option in someone's area then it's better than not being organized, but it's hard to understand why they'd be a committed communist's first choice given their endorsements and campaigning for Biden

Well, they weren't my first choice, but I'm glad that I stuck with them all these years.

That's fair and I think individual chapters and the relationships with members you organize with will be invaluable even if hexbear and other communists disagree with how leadership acts

I agree with how the leadership acts. There is no real rift between the membership and the leadership, though we do have disagreements here and there.

I don't mind you taking the time to chat with me, but you must understand: I'm pretty much here because of the Nat'l Committee.

So do you think communists should vote for Biden? Is that the position of the organization?

You say you want to help people understand CPUSA but the way you answer questions is incredibly counterproductive. Why not elaborate in any way?

You're giving 1-2 sentence replies that half the time don't answer the question. I would hope someone trying to represent their party here could be more elaborate, especially in what should be the friendliest possible environment (a bunch of fellow communists).

I have answered the questions. The problem is that people aren't really engaging with me or provide anything to really counter, just opinion, no evidence, I feel.

Also, communists are known for their sectarianism and in-fighting and I myself think "left unity" is pretty much a dead meme anyway.

One word is not an answer in these kinds of discussions - if you say the party doesn't support that stance, say what the party's stance actually is.

But I'm not using one word though.

You didn't ask for the party's stance and the party's stance is obvious.

                                This is ableist and offensive.

I am explaining my answers but you're not giving me much to go on, barely any hyperlinks or anything to debunk, besides what you can do through a quick search of cpusa.org or even a Google search. And it seems you didn't watch any of the speeches too.

"so you're just coming across as a troll."

                                That's on you.

You can call it ableist, but either you, like me, are autistic, and don't, like I didn't, understand why people are frustrated by your answers, or you are being a troll like I am when I give unhelpful answers now.

You are being presented with statements, based on people's interpretations of the OP link, that you are negating without informing. You're here claiming the CPUSA doesn't hold the stance that users have concluded they hold from their statements, but are not stating what the actual stance is, instead claiming it should be obvious, or we can just go on the website, but we're responding to statements from the party. Like literal things the party leader said with his mouth.

You can choose to clarify by clearly stating what the stance is or that the party doesn't have one at all, but "every branch has its own stance" isn't informative about the party stance. You came in to correct what you claim is a misinterpretation, but it's taking people repeated questioning just to get information on what the correction actually is. If you want to provide a correction, make sure you actually provide the corrected information, don't just tell people they can go find it themselves. Looking for it themselves is what got them the incorrect interpretation in the first place.

My guy if this is some kind of troll this is genius. If not, why shouldn't we vote for RFK instead? I think a brainworm better represents my interests than Biden.

Different party where I'm at but I plan to. Brainworm truly is the best main-stream option.

                          Also, Green? They're libs lol

                            Green is better than RFK.

RFK has evangelicals that man his campaign and the stuff he says can be bonkers as well as his policies.

How do the membership feel about this? Were there any major dissents? Have you heard anything else about this for context?

There are no major dissents between the "membership" and the "leadership."

          pathetic

So rank-and-file is okay with this? I would have hoped that at least the general membership would be more radical than "vote blue no matter who".

If I understand you correctly, this would imply that the majority opinion of the CPUSA members is to support Biden for a second term. Is that right?

I don't think so. Many people love or like Joe Sims in the organization for many different reasons. But certainly, the overall policy or line to vote or support Democrats in the 2024 election could be accepted and executed by many districts and by many people.
