Yes modern bodybuilding has gone way too far. Not about fitness at all anymore. It started going too far during the golden era with guys blasting dbol to look massive, think Arnold Schwarzenegger and co. But at least they tried to maintain some aesthetic even with the steroids. Modern bodybuilders since the mass monster era are all about mass over everything, even classic physique is too much these days.

I think most silver era bodybuilders looked the best, the last of the bodybuilders before widespread steriod use and with some modern nutritional and exercise science, well, at least as advanced as it was in the 50s. Look at Steve Reeves for example, he looks incredible and way better than any modern bodybuilder.

This looks AI generated. Like, his anatomy only approximately resembles human.

The upper traps musculature. They usually hyper respond to steriods as they have more androgen receptors, it's why so many steriod users have unreal traps like that.

It doesn't appeal to me, but I'm not going to tell another adult human what to do with their body. It doesn't really bother me. (Yes im aware that there are health risks etc)

Well im cool with huge manly guys in a platonic way. For example, Chris Hemsworth is undeniably attractive, but I don't feel a sexual attraction towards him.

Strongman can be "cute" in a bear like way but I dont do bears...sorry. Like Björn Hafthor is certainly an impressive guy but also not my type.

They look like dnd characters to me. The kind of guy I would want in a sword fight ...not in a pillow fight.

I wonder how many parts of his body he can no longer reach.

I remember reading an interview with Nasser El Sonbaty (90s bodybuilder) about visiting Greg Kovacs (90s bodybuilder) at his home. When Nasser asked to use the bathroom, Kovacs' wife felt uncomfortable, but couldn't refuse. So Nasser goes to the bathroom and there are a bunch of towels with a lot of shit stains on them. Kovacs is one of the biggest bodybuilders ever, his muscles were so inflated that he couldn't reach around to wipe properly lol. BOTH died early due to heart problems caused by excessive steroid use. Professional Bodybulding should never be associated with fitness, they are on so much gear that they are very unhealthy.

He's actually one of the bodybuilders that has aged the best from that era, he still hits the gym regularly from what I can tell on social media.

Ronnie Coleman on the other hand, yeah he has not aged well in terms of maintaining physical ability.
