This is so fucking funny. How do you go from rapping about being happy Reagan is dead to stand-up-comedian-complaining-about-woke tier grievances

Killer Mike posting some L's dropping the mask on some latent homophobia and bragging about being a landlord

This sounds like the script to a new boondocks episode 💀

It could totally work lol. Boondocks already makes fun of gansta rap and hip hop culture from the inside, and they already got that Ceelo Green voiced character to point out how entryist capitalist stuff is bs during the BET sucks episodes that were banned. It's like a crossover of both

“Without education, people will accept anything. Without education, what you’ll have is neo-colonialism instead of colonialism like you have now. Without education, people don’t know why they’re doing what they’re doing, you know what I mean? You might get people caught up in an emotionalist movement, might get them because they’re poor and they want something and then if they’re not educated, they’ll want more and before you know it, we’ll have Negro imperialism.”

In the US the only racial minority more likely to be homophobic than white people are asian people. The polls showing black and latino people were more likely to be homophobic were shown to be false, even without adjusting for religion.

However, it is very true that if the US had a parliamentary system the liberal-christian party would be the biggest by far. Probably 40% lib 20% fash 20% succdem 5% black nationalist and 5% lefty

Ok yeah, that all makes sense.

However, racism is the republican party. You're asking the fash to be less racist. In a white supremacist society the farthest right party will always be joyfully, whole chestedly, racist. "Not racist fash" is what a neoliberal is. The dems are conservatives too. What you're describing would only ever mayyybe happen if the dems became a succdem party. Which is almost inconcievable.

Whats more likely in the future is for the dems to be more racist too. Climate refugees are going to make a fash out of a whole lotta libs.

Also though have you seen that site that showed how the primary was probably fucked with? South carolina's numbers were adjusted more than anyone's according to them. Its called bernie wouldnt have won or something.

Edit: its called berniewouldhavelost.com but its down. Anyway it showed exit poll discrepancies bigger than what theyve used to justify coups and sanctions. SC had the biggest discrepancies.

For me personally, black/minority capitalism can be delayed criticism if it provides some useful service like restaurants/bars/clothes/etc. Like, selling cheap sandwiches in a corner store of a dilapidated neighborhood probably isn’t making the world a worse place.

Being a landlord parasite is never excusable unless you’re renting without profit, which lets be real, rarely exists in the US so it’s pointless to even humor.

like this is the kind of meaningless conclusions that pollster-brain leads you to. you chunk people out into seperate demographics and immediately you find good excuses to reject solidarity.

it feels really hard for me to make any super hard criticisms about that ideology as a means of getting over 400 years of oppression,

Black capitalism might be doing great for Mike here, but it's not doing shit for the people living in his properties and paying him rent. It might work great for the black bankers he bankrolls, but it won't work nearly so well for the people with mortgages who will get fucked by the next housing crisis. What's more, the first group is much smaller than the second. Even if black capitalism applies itself perfectly and annihilates income disparities between races (this is an absurd fantasy) it will still fail to free most black people because most of them will still need to be poor because most people need to be poor under capitalism! We can't all be capitalists! In fact, the vast majority of us must be workers! What do you propose, that everyone be a petite-bourgeois asshole with his own corner store? Who would be shopping at these stores, the other petite bourgeois assholes who are busy with their own stores? Who supplied the goods? Who shipped them? None of it makes sense as a model to combat oppression except to make it a more racially indiscriminate oppression that has merely redistributed a portion of its brutality to other groups. The prison population won't shrink thanks to black capitalism (even in this fantasy!), it will just become more racially proportional.

But again, it's a fantasy, because racism as we know it wasn't just born from the hearts of morally impure white men spontaneously, nor did it grow from the ground. It was created as a tool in service to an institution, and that institution was capitalism. It serves a purpose under capitalism and helps to maintain it. By refusing to address these issues and pretending to be a liberator for only your own sake, Mike has made himself someone who is not even worth being spat on.

The "blacks are homophobic" thing is so moronic it doesn't merit a response.

I doubt you would find black people are more homophobic than any other groups given surveyed populations with similar rates of higher education. Even if it were, black homophobia isn't anywhere near a dominant strain of homophobia in the US, nor is it really a motivating issue for the black community to organize around.

There's a certain respect to which I feel obliged to reserve judgement on things like this normally, but this guy just disgusts me.

You can see it encapsulated in "a few words for the firing squad" from RTJ4

It'd be a lie if I told you that I ever disdained the fortune and fame

But the presence of the pleasure never abstained me from any of the pain

Wanna fuckin' bet? You still suffer sleepless nights over making rent when you're extracting it from others?

Friends tell her "He could be another Malcolm, he could be another Martin"

She told her partner "I need a husband more than the world need another martyr"

Imagine being such a narcissistic prick that you would compare yourself to Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. in the same breath just to glorify yourself before justifying doing fuck all except publishing songs and having a domestic life. Like, there's something to be said about the moral issues of larping as a gangster, but that's a thousand, million, billion times less repugnant than larping as a world-historic civil rights leader or even as someone who has the character to be one.

In a similar vein, go listen to Kid Rock's 2022 album. It's all hilariously dumb. I now know all the lyrics to 'We The People' and enthusiastically shout out the 'lets go Brandon!' chants in the middle of it.
