I know the democrats won't do either but people like Will Stancil (a rando) make me laugh. There's a legion of centrists who self-identify as progressive because they know how many people hate centrists.

These dorks realize they need a super majority of either state legislatures or congress in order to pass a constitutional amendment, right? Which means democrats need to build their organization outside of the northeast corridor in order to do that.

Notice how his plan isn't predicated on the amendment passing, merely on forcing the Republicans to engage in a way that (he thinks) makes them look bad.

This isn't policy, it's just posturing.

Ah yes, shaming the Republicans into doing something reasonable, that’s been a totally successful strategy the last twenty some odd years.

Dems: "Have you no shame sir?"

          Repubs: "No, I really don't."

          Dems: "Ah. Well. Nevertheless..."

In order for shame to work, you need to have respect for the person attempting to shame you. If you don't, it just bounces off you. This is why a six year old calling you poopy pants gets laughed off.

Please put a content warning on this. I still have nightmares.

Stancil showed me there's an entire class of "progressive" dorks who live in a wishful thinking fantasyland of unicorns, puppies, kittens, and permanent sunshine. He knows his plan even in perfect theoretical situation would take a ridiculous number of years to work. Yet he still pretends it's a winning plan for 2024 for Biden and the dems.

          Later...

"Hey - the dems control congress and the presidency. How about raising the federal minimum wage to be a livable wage?"

          "We don't have the votes."

          Then later than that...

"Hey, the dems now have a greater majority than last time and they also control the presidency - how about now?"

          "We don't have enough votes."

          Much later...

"Hey, the dems control congress by a widest margin this century and the dems control the presidency again - how about now?"

"There are other priorities on the agenda that must be addressed first."

The democrats will do nothing, and you will be happy, and you will vote for them again. End of deal.

Hey fuck it, let's go ahead and make a constitutional amendment to make a 100% wealth tax above 1 million dollars, and the minimum legal net worth 1 million dollars. This will fix everything by making the price of all houses two cars short of a million bucks and will eliminate poverty and homelessness by making it illegal to not have a house and two cars, and will shut up all those pesky progressives and their requests for nonsense like whatever that above ground hyperloop thing they're always talking about is. Traims I think?

I call it the Millionaire For All act and it's my signature campaign promise for the 2024 election which i am also announcing my candidacy for now.
