Watching the past few years of "resistance" theatrics being constantly followed up by raising Trump's military budget and expanding surveillance powers and the like is what made me finally and completely give up any notion that the Dems are interested in anything that would help people. When McConnell inevitably rams through a nominee in the next few weeks while Pelosi maybe complains a little bit, I'd bet at least a few libs will start to realize the system is irredeemable.

the failure here is that they believe that if they just vote and get the presidency they will fix it and not like just make them the norm

"Our entire democracy is at stake! Only Biden's Supreme Court nominee can halt the descent into fascism! Anyway, no, I will not do anything about it."

    Classic Pelosi.

No you don't understand, Pelosi did not take the possibility of a second impeachment off the table. I mean what more do you want?

I mean, she could at least rip up a speech, show everyone she means business!

Even better if it's a speech she stood up and applauded several times while it was being delivered, like last time.

Democracy is when you wake up at the bottom of a pit and the party leadership tells you "She puts the Biden on the skin or else she gets the Trump again."

    So, no, in other words.

The supreme court is even more doomed than it was before

    Dems: VOTE!

For someone who will pack the court?

Dems: No! Vote for the corporate candidate who has promised that nothing will fundamentally change!

If republicans ever lost control of the supreme court it would only be a week or two before an 83-5 decision declared packing the court to be legal.

"If the Republicans want to appoint a Justice before January 20, which you said would be apocalyptically bad, how would you stop them?"

"Telling you to vote for the president who doesn't start until January 20"

I heard the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme many times, but I didn't know it was the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme. I imagined something like the Seinfeld theme and somehow that also works startlingly well for this
