It's a very short article and it gives no details about what the fine could be. I know, I know - we all know it's not going to be much. Still - I'd like a ballpark figure. $10,000? $20,000? More? Much more?
That would be the best outcome because many people would get angry and then they'd learn how and why that fine is so low as to be meaningless to a rich company.
fines should be scaled but they aren't so it will be $1000 at most.

I'm American but I don't know anything about fines. I assume scaled fines are rare nationwide. Is that accurate?
That's accurate. Outside of (maybe) some high-level financial regulations, I've never heard of it in the U.S.
