    The Wagner angle is very interesting. It casts their recent mutiny in a bit of a new light. I wonder whether Wagner is being sent to a far-off quagmire to remove a politically popular but inconvenient leader from play, or if Putin wouldn't let them off the leash so far away from home in a sensitive region without confidence in their loyalty.

    Either way, France and the EU can fuck off and buy their uranium at fair market value like everyone else. Solidarity with the people of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso.

      This is their reward for being good bullet sponges. Going from being the frontline troops in a modern battlefield to advising and playing a support role in an under developed colonial country.

      It's basically a return to form for them and their presence tends to relax Western aggression for fear of pissing off Russia by dropping bombs on their citizens.

      The US killed like 100 of them in Syria and it almost caused a major diplomatic incident and gave Putin some chips to play against NATO during the conflict.
