Has the DNC considered nominating Donald Trump? I feel like that might actually be the funniest possible option, and it would be really gratifying to watch all the Voot Blue boomers turn inside out on Facebook. I guess it's a non-starter, though, since then they might win.

All the Democrat senators and representatives and governors care very much about how Biden affects their chances

well, JACK, a huge majority of democrats don't control the Democratic party. the party is run by about 20 or so dead eyed nihilists that do not answer to anyone but capital. they bought this ticket with no refunds.

Doesn't mean they wouldn't vote for him.

After the SCOTUS ruling yesterday, people would probably enthusiastically vote for a flaming sack of dog turds over Trump.

These people actually think the President having unlimited power to do whatever the hell he wants, then Biden doing nothing with that, is gonna get people to vote for Biden?

There you have it, the people want Hillary.

I'm curious though, how often does election polling have a named democrat ahead of an "unnamed democrat" option? Has that actually happened any time in recent history? Like obviously registered voters are going to pick "someone else" here if you don't name who "someone else" is.
