I don't know how normies think this isn't a big deal. It's not even entirely about whether the stories are true or not. It's about the fact that "reputable" news organizations are using an absolute lunatic as a source of info.

This is almost like if you were reading the New York Times, and they casually dropped: "according to a report by Alex Jones..." in their article. You would probably never look at that news site the same way again.

      I wish everyone was an expert in at least one thing so that they could go read virtually any mainstream news coverage on that one thing and see how ridiculously bad they are on the basic facts and premise. I'm in software and any time I see reporting on software or software security, it's awful and wrong. If they're so wrong about that then surely they're probably wrong about everything, because they're an organization of writers - not experts.

      Freedom of press will never exist under capitalism. Every local newsroom I've worked in has been beholdened to the publisher's politics and every national one is either run by a billionaire or VC group.
