"He's doing okay... he and I hang out pretty frequently. He's got some mobility issues and unfortunately some aphasia."

"...But I'm over at his place every week doing readings about the Seven Years War and having fairly high level conversations with him about like the spread of global capitalism in the 18th century. Just not really in a way that is mic ready right now. We'll see... I mean we're working on it. We're making a little progress every week. I see a path, I just have no idea what the timetable for any of this could be, and I don't think he does either, so hopefully updates when we have it..."

He also said they're putting out a book based on the Spanish Civil War episode scripts edited into a nice looking book. Limited run, with proceeds going to support Matt, his recovery, and his family. Preorder available sometime next month.

We miss our big wet boy... and we hope he can return someday to the mic, but we understand if he can't or doesn't want to.

It's incredibly sad, tragic really, that a man who relied on his speech and usage of clever words and a fast wit was struck down in this way in his prime. But, on the other hand, if you listened to Matt's kush blogs (on YouTube btw) he talked about his health as a child and into adulthood. It sucks, but really, we got lucky to ever have this much of him. You can mourn what may never be or you can celebrate what already was. Something like that.

We got so many beautiful unhinged rants spurred on by Will's pathological search for new and relevant reactionary opinion pieces.

Ah and who could forget the time he insisted that Iran must be given a nuke to "very serious" journalists?

I listened to Chapo on and off, but I'm glad I was there for that moment him and I think Virgil talked to those two liberal podcasters completely unprepared and still schooled them. That was hilarious.

Here's the credentialed guy: Michael Isikoff

            https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Isikoff

The Wikipedia top summary I feel probably just about sums him up... Michael Isikoff (born June 16, 1952) is an American investigative journalist who used to be the Chief Investigative Correspondent at Yahoo! News. He is the co-author with David Corn of the book titled Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin's War on America and the Election of Donald Trump, published on March 13, 2018.

That book title tells me everything I could ever need to know about him lmao.

And the other interviewer (podcast called "Skullduggery" (lmao)) was Daniel Klaidman.

I don't see a Wikipedia for him nor have I ever heard of him outside this interview context, unlike Isikoff who is somewhat famous or at least like "a guy" in that world. Looks like he's also a journalist though having worked for CBS and a bunch of other MSM outlets based one literally one google search.

So, not sure why/how the fuck Matt and Virgil ended up at the interview, but it is one of the more entertaining crossovers of normie, libshit like Isikoff and whatever one would label what Matt does. Someone deeply invested in US imperialism and someone very much so critical of it I guess

For anyone who hasn't heard it, podcast was "Skullduggery" with Michael Isikoff and Daniel Klaidman (Yahoo news and CBS news/Newsweek respectively)

But I'm over at his place every week doing readings about the Seven Years War and having fairly high level conversations with him about like the spread of global capitalism in the 18th century.

It's super cute that these two just hang out and dork out about history stuff.

He's got some mobility issues and unfortunately some aphasia.

That's what always scares me about a stroke, losing the ability to move and talk. Damn. But I'm glad he's doing better!

I hope he's doing better with all the therapies he's going through. I've seen too many good people go through that process. I'm always thankful to him for bringing together my great love of history and politics. In a world of narrow- minded specialists, he's one of the few people with the reach to tell the story of human history as a grand narrative. He showed us that the only way we can ever start thinking about the future again is by starting with a narrative of the past.

Hope our large son gets well.

Seems from what I heard from matt's partner amber and now chris, this whole ordeal seems really nightmarish.

Anyway all that matters is recovery and relief. Hope large son matt gets all that.

I don't listen to chapo at all but from the excerpts I've seen this guy sounded pretty smart and this is not just considering the low bar set by the average podcaster. So it's a bit sad this happened to him.

Yeah, he was honestly miles ahead of the rest of them (though Vergil could be pretty sharp too). It's kind of sad that Felix is now arguably the intellectual peak of the podcast these days when Chris isn't chiming in. Will is just a housekeeper.

I think Amber is underrated and comes across better in hindsight compared to Virgil. That said she tends to be class reductionist which leads to worse takes on social issues. Also Virgil was taped in 4k snogging some random dude during a boiler room set so maybe it's 50/50

He's unfit to serve the pod. He really needs to step down. I suggest VP Virgil to replace him.
