Honestly, just really dumb of Hoyo and the promotion company to try to sponsor someone with "4Chan" right in the name.

Guy could have probably milked a lot more sympathy if he just said he got screwed out of 2k without listing all the ways he broke his contract. This just look bad to anyone who isn't anti-Chinese to a deranged level.

It literally says "Please do not include violence, sex, politics related content." and he's "???" after a sex related joke like he has no clue what the issue is.

Most people are more sympathetic to people than companies so it should be the easiest PR win ever, but instead he looks both extremely racist and like a clown who doesn't even skim through what he signs.

He's probably gambling that there's enough latent sinophobia in his target audience that this will make him net famous.

His target audience is gamers, so the chances probably aren't bad.

Really? Cuz you sounds mad. You sound like you wanted to get paid lots of money advertising slop to children with minimal effort on your part and you didn't realize that it's not that easy and you're mad about it.

I'm going to guess the views on this tweet is probably more than what he got on his entire channel last month if not 6 months even and he still managed to fuck himself out of an easy $2k through shitposting memes from 2012. Amazing.

Funniest possible outcome would be if the terms and conditions he clearly didn't read also prohibit him from publishing private communications between the parties and he gets sued.

I tried to look up what actual Indigenous terms are for the island, but didn't manage to find anything.

According to the Baidu entry and a Wikipedia entry, Taiwan is a transliteration of an Indigenous name. Respectively:

        Baidu

大员台湾古称,是由台湾南部平埔族台窝湾社(Teyowan)之名转化而来 The name Dayuan Taiwan originates from the Teyowan settlement of the Pingpu people in the south of Taiwan.

        Wiki

Many scholars propose that the name of the island Taiwan actually came from the indigenous people's name, as the pronunciation of Taivoan is similar to Tayovan, the people that the Dutch met around the coast of Anping or the bay around Anping, which later became the name Taiwan. In addition, the Taivoan established a settlement called Taiouwang, which is the only indigenous community residing there whose name resembles Taiwan.[4][5]

As for other Indigenous groups' names for the island, or what the Taivoan people call the island itself I am unsure. I'm slow at reading Chinese so am just doing my best to search and translate.

being able to acknowledge the existence of Taiwan

There's a 0% chance this guy can tell the difference between Taiwan and mainland China and would gleefully engage in satanic levels of racism against someone from Taiwan to their face

He'd probably pull out calipers and yell about how he can tell "good orientals" apart by measuring their eyes.

Imagine being the game influencer company minion who had to show their Chinese client the bucktooth slit eyed rice hat wearing "art" that you commissioned for them.
