You're gonna need some real cold water. Either ice water or refrigerated, or really any drink that's super cold and chilled. Drink that first, slosh all that cold liquid in your mouth, and then take a piece of whatever you're eating and put it in your mouth while it's still cold inside. Preferably a small piece, just to be safe; this is still kinda risky to do.

Let me know how this works out for you if you give it a try.

i think ill stick with my method where i just cram the hot food in as fast as i can, burn the christ out of my mouth and make noises while i try to suck air in without aspirating anything, exhale mouth wide while saying, "fuck fuck fuck hot hot hot" and then get mad at god for doing this to me.

For soups I dip a bunch of bread in and eat the bread first then the soup is usually close to an edible temperature by the time I finish the bread.

i just tried it but the shock from such rapid and extreme temperate shift caused my tongue to shatter into a million pieces

But what about food with hotter contents inside? This is great, but I am still a danger to myself with stuffed foods.

This works for other things too. If you soak your hand in ice water you can reach into a fire and grab burning wood.

I used to bake bagels, and I had a reservoir of cold water in front of the oven so I could constantly dip my hands in to mitigate the heat. Even with that, my fingertips were pretty smoothed out. I could never get those produce bags at the grocery store open.

Alternatively do this but with pickled vegetables still cold from the fridge instead of the water

Could be regular pickles, could be kimchi, whatever goes with what you're eating
