On my end if I want to subscribe to a comm here every single post goes into my home feed so it becomes a bit of a firehose. I don't mind but it seems to discourage some people

Struggle sessions don't get solved they go dormant and will always crop back up even without federation. Mods can do what they can to suppress them but there will always be a few threads that slip through the crack.
