It's an awful time to move to the US. I'd try Canada, though they're probably just 5 years behind us

Yeah if you're salaried white collar, you're probably gonna be okay. For what it's worth.

if you’ve got the cash you can safely insulate yourself from the strife in the US

That is true, but 60k won't do it. Entry level jobs like you describe don't even insulate you much from the healthcare and education systems.

There are many things that can happen before a revolutionary party sets foot in the white house and burns that shit to the ground including a fascist like Trump one day deciding worker visas are banned, or deciding all immigrants should go to a nice ICE facility for "regular checkups" if you get my drift. The ICE is no joke and I don't understand why anyone would risk their life immigrating to a country where that shit exists with no signs of being held accountable or changing. You may think white collars will be safe... tell that to the Japanese in WW2. The US has a criminal record already. Nobody knows what this shit is going to look like 10-20 years from now, but certainly not better than today.

Alternatives? Any other English speaking country is better: Canada(they have a points program), Australia, NZ, NOT UK. Non English speaking? I would pick in this order Germany(Requirements here), China, Japan(I hear work culture is much better for foreigners on big multinational corporations).

Doesn't Japan import a lot of tech workers because their university system is so poor at educating them?

Honestly I don't know enough about Japan's education to comment sorry. The OP said he already had a bachelor's degree though.

He also said he's looking at pursuing a Masters. Which might be a dead letter in the US anyways since Trump is trying to fuck with international students' visas who are now forced to attend classes online.

The Scandinavian countries are pretty good, well established social safety net, good education, very decent pay, everybody speaks English.

No. If possible, China is the best place to go. But since you speak English, I'd say New Zealand or Ireland. Scotland if it becomes independent.

Go to one of the coastal places and you should be ok. Honestly, as an American we need people who aren't reactionary turds so I welcome you. But for your material security it definitely is a risk. Canada is not a bad place TBH. Anything can happen--good or bad-- in the future and just keep an eye on current US politics.

if it has to be the anglosphere ireland sounds like the best. when i was studying in new zealand there was a lot of casual racism against not just the native maori/polynesians, but also asians like me and definitely indians. i cant really speak for china, but given modi exists its prolly not going to be too realistic of an option. japan really isnt as good as it seems and work culture here is fucked. as a foreigner, youll get a bit of leniency but japan is the apex of post-fordian capitalist dystopia.
