The Deep State is a real thing. There's a lot of nonsense talked about it, but it's a real thing. There are career intelligence professionals who outlast politicians and pull strings in Washington.

The American "deep state" is fundamentally transparent in some aspects:

        • NOT CHINESE
        • NOT RUSSIAN
        • NOT OTHER FOREIGNERS

Holy shit this just “our deep state isn’t a deep state because it’s american”, especally that last point about how in america it’s ok because the constitution. The only attempt to explain how the american deep state actually behaves and functions differently than others is the 4th point which is just factually untrue

Like, I can see the argument that a lot beurocratic institutions in the us, particularly regulatory agencies, are more beholden to private or “surface-state” interest than they would be in a country like say turkey (maybe, I don’t actually know much about turkey) but the national security, diplomatic, law-enforcement and other “non-political” apparatii definitely have their own political power

The US alphabet agencies, famous for being highly transparent, ONLY acting in defense, and ONLY acting in accordance with the Constitution
