That ambani wedding between the billionaires in India is approximately 320M$.

I don't think any oligarch from any country has ever managed to pull off a party of that expense.

India really is just what you would get if there was no CPC for China

So obviously these people should all be beheaded to hold such an event while there are children starving in the streets, but if you can compartmentalize that for a sec and look at the thing in a vacuum...

    Damn, that's a sick party

I really do hope the Indian people have a period of red terror. I can’t decide which one is more debauched. oligarchs living in skyscrapers secretly and having depraved orgies away from the public eye, or failsons and faildaughters having half a billion dollar wedding and publicly broadcasting it to the poor masses

Unfortunately at this point a brutal sectarian civil war looks more likely than a proletarian revolution.

Yeah, my method is failproof too. I've never heard of a wedding costing that much in the US. And not to be that person, but India's corruption problem is far worse than the US (they're both horrible, but there aren't destitute Americans like there are in India, while both have billionaires)

Much better than buying a super yacht or some dumb massive mansion tbh

They rented out an entire cruise ship for a week for the pre-wedding party so any carbon emissions savings are probably out the door.

For comparison, coronation of Jean Bedel Bokassa, often cited as the most senslessly lavish party in recent history costed 20 million$ (in 1977 dollars, today it would be around 100 million)
