Reason being 'blatant disinformation', obviously. What's even funnier is it was my response to a lib accussing a comrade of being a russian bot.

Remember how that sub was couped?

Wasn't that sub originally controlled by Sanders fans but got literally couped by the admins and handed over to some Biden bros?

And the for a while after the coup, the comment section was defaulted to sort by controversial, meaning you'd see incredibly lib comments at the top of every section.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't that during the peak of the Tara Reade story breaking? Or after?

        During.

The mods also auto removed posts and comments that contained the phrase "rape apologia" or "rape apologists" because so many leftist were (correctly) pointing out the way the #VoteBlue crowd were flipping on Me too for Biden.

Thanks for confirming that. PCM was basically the only sub that could get "Joe Biden is a rapist" to hit r/all so I wasn't terribly surprised they did that

Yeah, I actually found it through /all, not through Chapo. And then almost immediately after Bernie suspended his campaign, boom. Goodbye old mods, hello new mods handpicked by admins in a post where at least a few CTH users requests to be mods were removed (myself included).

Huh, weird that we got a bunch of users from /r/neoliberal flooding in, and mods who were friendly to them, and a bunch of new rules specifically designed to push that content to the top......

I eventually gave up on that sub.

I did go back recently, and I noticed that everyone who had MDelegate flair still were automatically switched to Kamala Harris flair. Which I assume is another troll by the mods who weren't around to earn MDelegates in the first place.

Russia gate is real tho.... It was an attempt to convince liberals that the election has be compromised by a foreign power and it worked. All those fb ads were made to get caught

The phenomenon of social media manipulation is 100% real. The reduction of all racism and injustice in the US to social media manipulation, and the farther reduction of that manipulation to Russia is where liberals really jumped the shark. This is the kind of shit the US has probably been doing for decades, but all of a sudden when it was used domestically everyone lost their minds.

As we witnessed on this very site, it only takes a single person, or a handful of people to register hundreds of accounts and automate them to amplify bullshit. Social media influence campaigns are trivial. Post your shit, sockpuppet some flimsy strawman opposition, own them, then bot likes and upvotes. Anyone with the resources of a modest political campaign can do this shit, and the Republicans don't need the fucking Spetsnaz to drown social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Reddit in reactionary garbage.

If the libs stopped at "Damn, perceptions on social media are extremely easy to manipulate," this meltdown would have been a lot more productive, but instead they embarked on one of the most absurd witch hunts of a generation.

It's because Americans need media literacy but that would run counter to the needs of neoliberalism.

Russiagate is funnier than qanon. As at once Putin is a genius who gained control over a variety of people decades ago and kills those who are a threat, yet MSNBC figured it all out.

There's plenty of evidence to support Russiagate (god that's a terrible name). The criticism of Russiagate isn't that it's completely fabricated; it's that:

      1. Not everything leads back to Russia, and
      2. The U.S. has a ton of glaring problems regardless of whatever Russia is doing.

"It's all made up" is just as silly as blaming Putin for getting stuck in traffic.

libs make it this huge deal and focus all their energy on this minor irrelevant thing that is probably less then 1% of the meddling that Amerikkka does

Totally fair. Comparing it to QAnon is too far, though.

I really need to tell my lib friends who still browse reddit to stop using it because it is fucking astroturfed, and has been sliding fast to the right politically over the past couple years.

More like it's been narrowing to right of center. You know, what American's consider "fair and balanced"

It was fun when there were 20 candidates, Bernie and Warren were fighting back to back against the neolib horde, and Yang, Tulsi, and Marrianne were coming in with the chaos energy. Now it's down to two, and you could not come up with a better picturesque representation of a dying empire than these two candidates and campaigns. The only funny memes left to make are the meta ones that deride the entirety of the clown car politics we're in right now, everything else would just make me sad tbh.

No it was Great until they couped the sub, it was mostly biden bashing. Which is why Reddit admins removed the comrade mod for some bullshit reason and replaced him with astroturfers. Now all upvotes are hidden and comments are sorted by controversial so the dumb lib takes are always at the top. It's also now full of the same people that are at work in /r/politics.

Well yeah I understand that other things changed to make it not great but even if the old sub's mods weren't couped and shit continued the way it was I'm saying that it still probably wouldnt be that great just given the context of our current situation: primary is over, two candidates left in the general are decrepit old farts with a mix of lib brain or fash brain. Shit was gonna start to get depressing and repetitive regardless.

They're going to say that because there were actual russian connections between manafort and stone that this was real and qanon isn't. But Bill Clinton did fly on epsteins plane multiple times.
