Seriously, how has Bernie not learned any kind of lesson from his 2020 and 2016 campaigns?
Is his mind going the way of his best friend Biden? Does the CIA have heart attack guns aimed at his grandchildren? I know we joke, but damn, I have a hard time explaining his behavior otherwise. He has nothing to gain from this shit, and he must know it, right? Even his position on Israel somehow got even worse in the years since his presidential campaign, which is kind of bizarre.
I know Bernie is a succdem lib, but was he really lying about his positions this whole time? His entire career? I swear, thinking about it gives me trust issues because I can no longer read this guy who I once thought might genuinely make a difference. I'm more sad and confused than angry about it.
Probably not the CIA, but it's really, really hard not to start spouting conspiracy theories about a Clinton Crime Family Hit Squad. Or they have dirt on him for receiving kickbacks from the Burlington Coat Factory. Or he was forced at gunpoint to participate in ritual child-sniffing with his Good Friend Joe Biden, and they're threatening to leak the video footage if he fails to bend the arthritic knee hard enough.
Probably more just an ideology thing. Liberals conceive of themselves as citizens of the empire. As good imperial citizens concerned for the well being of the empire and it's mainlanders, the edge of respectable political discourse for liberals is to point out the inefficiencies and feel bad about the worst excesses of imperialism.
