I wonder if they'd consider voting in one of the elections in "bad countries" with the same reverence. Like if somebody in China said "I dislike the CCP so I refuse to vote because i morally object to their communism and I refuse to contribute to the idea that they govern with the full consent of the people and our elections are antidemocratic shams." What would they say in reply, hmm?

I think it is very cool and normal for these supposed leftists to expend more energy on vote scolding people to support a genocide than trying to get their beloved leaders to stop supporting genocide.

The best way to get your agenda through is to offer your votes without any demands other than that they’re blue.

I wonder if this predisposition towards black and white thinking and false dichotomy is a distinctly US thing? Do other countries also go in for this "you have to vote for 99.9% hitler or we will all literally die" shit?

I have an old 'friend' I have finally cut out of my life. The last trip we ever took together he spent half the time talking about how he loves Vaush and scolding 'tankies'. I could go on about the details, but it's about what you'd expect.

Anyone who watched that guy before the full revelation was suspect

Anyone who watches him currently, considering how far and wide that horse porn and drawn child porn story went, is... well, vaush is a zoophile and a consumer of drawn child porn and defender, on too many fucking occasions, of actual child porn.

He has absolutely no moral grounds from which to criticize anyone for basically anything. He didn't before, and he definitely doesn't now.

My tshirt that says "don't believe any of the 30+ examples in my reddit megathread about being a paedophile" has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt.

Edit: wellllllllllll before the video mishap. I think that started around 2018-19 with a huge number of sourced quotes.

Yeah frankly I'm not interested in entertaining any "ex-Vaushites" at this point. Maybe pre-hentai folder, but after that, if you're still a fan of that creep, you have horribly poor judgement that's really beyond fixing and nobody should trust you ever again. Fuck off and go live a quiet life and never talk about anything more complicated than Netflix shows ever again in your life.

Of course it’s shaming that’s their go-to tactic. Can’t sell the candidate on theirs merits, noooo, patronizing finger-wagging is what really makes people get to the polls, they don’t find it demeaning at all.

every time a person pitches this shame-based approach they're white, so just tell them that white men and women in the US overwhelmingly vote for trump. so get to work on those people instead of going after random leftists who don't want to support genocide.

TLDR: massive digression incoming. Hardly related to the comment section linked

My doctor has recommended I start punching myself in the face 3 times upon waking up because it causes less injury to my brain than scrolling across this shit...

Someone in those comments linked a site I haven't seen in a long time:

    "Rationalwiki"

First thought is "oh, that right winger site from a decade+ ago??? Being posted by fake, but self-declared, "leftists"???"

I don't know if it's still a far right wing site, or if I confused it with another similarly named site

But I did it give it the ol' test search. None better than Israel

Although once an ancient Bible-era civilization, Israel ceased to exist after being conquered by various empires and only re-emerged as a sovereign entity in 1948.

Weird framing citing Biblical sources. If you're citing the Bible or any other religious texts, you are objectively not being rational... on rationalwiki.

Israel is involved in numerous international disputes and conflicts, partially arising from religious hostility towards it and partially arising from Israel's own aggressive and oppressive behavior. One of those disputes concerns where exactly Israel's capital really is. Most of the world recognizes the city of Tel Aviv, but Israel itself claims the city of Jerusalem as its capital and has most of its government located there. A lot of stress also arises because Israel was built on the land that many Palestinians used to live on and Israel currently occupies Palestinian territory. The Muslim-majority Palestinians demand their own state and want Israel to stop its oppressive treatment of them. Israel also militarily occupies the Golan Heights region of Syria and is regularly in conflict with Palestinian liberation/terrorist groups.

Bold emphasis mine. Citing the essentially irrelevant religious hostility towards Israel (or Jews, as the framing would prefer) is... frankly, a dark joke at this point in the genocide. There is no real, observable hatred for Israelis as Jews for being practicing adherents of Judaism from Palestinian Muslims or Christians. There is all the hatred for the military apparatus, state government and all those Israelis who support the ongoing blockade, land theft, murder, torture, genocide.

And you can't list all these grievances against a people then call their liberation groups liberation SLASH* terrorist. It's one or the other. The Israeli government and its allies US, UK, etc. have chosen to frame all Palestinian liberation efforts as terrorism. Should a RATIONAL wiki be adopting or parroting the stances, uncritically, of the most powerful nations on earth? I dunno. Seems a bit irrational to me.

Complicating the problem is that Hamas and certain of Israel's neighbors don't want Israel to exist, so they have a habit of launching rockets at it once in a while.

Oh, that's the only reason why? Or even a significant reason? Not the constant oppression and murder (pre-Oct 2023) of Palestinians in Gaza and Jerusalem. Ok. Just they hate the smollest bwean Isweweal. Mweanies! 🥺

Fuck reddit. I know this was a massive digression, but I fell down a rabbit hole and, well, I love dragging people with me. Wikipedia is ok for understanding some very basic facts and definitions. Probably this rationalwiki is the same on many topics. It's Israel page that I was ripping my own hair out over above is, and it's unfortunate that this is true, more objective and more historically "true" than most narratives you'll find in western MSM. It still couldn't help both sidesing a settler-colonial project, ethnic cleansing, and genocide though.

Maybe they think if you just start correctly ripping into Israel's ass it wouldn't be fair. And they're right. It wouldn't be fair because you end up with basically 100% of the evil bad stuff on only one side, Israel's. So they go with false bullshit about "well, maybe Palestinians stole the land 6000 years ago so...!" Ok. And "well, Palestinians got really mad and started killing Israelis and launching rockets!... after we stole their land and killed a bunch of their people." Ok. There's just no rational argument for framing anything Israel does as justified because it simply isn't.

This "wiki" (on Israel anyway) is just editorialized bullshit seemingly crafted to tweak the nipples of liberal Zionists who love Israel, don't give a shit about Palestinians, and just secretly wish Israel could kinda "hurry up" with the whole genocide thing so they can go back to never speaking about it again or, in their dreams, never hearing leftist protesters "whining" about it again.

They really do talk like children who have vastly overestimated their own intelligence and understanding of politics and political theory. They’re just sitting comfortably right at the top of that Dunning-Krueger peak.

Like the one commenter bringing up Al Gore losing by 500 votes as if the reason he lost is the voters fault. That is a truly childish analysis. The reason Al Gore lost was because America is a sham democracy and there’s no amount of voting for a milquetoast neoliberal that will ever change that.

Like, Al Gore spent a decade being the smug climate change awareness guy and since then he has been completely overshadowed in the conversation by a literal child who actually has the spine to say Capitalism is the problem. And none of that even has to do with why he lost.

Al Gore lost because of Astro turfed riots demanding a recount that, surprise surprise, worked out in bush’s favor, and was then protected by the fascist Supreme Court and specifically by a judge who was installed by Bush sr.

I think about that a lot when I listen to democrats pearl clutching about January 6th. If you seriously think what went wrong in the 2000 election was that people didn’t vote hard enough and not; A. The party that is ostensibly our bulwark against fascism failed to inspire an overwhelming electoral turnout because of their terminally uninspiring rhetoric and policies and B. The fascist Supreme Court stealing the election in favor of the right.

Then boy do I have some jingling keys I think these V@aushites are really gonna love.

Also isn’t this guy a confirmed pedophile at this point?

    Deeply unserious
