Might be a good idea to look for leftist scenes in ur area. It's honestly so difficult as a minority anywhere to feel safe with people whose ideology you aren't sure of, but I feel a bit of relief knowing almost anywhere I go if I can find comrades I know I'll have friends
I swear Germans are the most xenophobic and racist nation I've ever interacted with, but at the same time they're convinced they're very much not xenophobic nor racist WHILE openly speaking of "ethnical Germans" and how only said group is real Germans and how any racism in Germany must be done by anyone but "ethnical Germans" (because obviously they cannot do any wrong). And no, it's not different people.
Most of Europe and "the west" is this racist, but a big difference in Germany is there is still somewhat of a stigma against it given their history. In a lot of other places in Europe, though, people are just unapologetically racist. I think the US is also similar to Germany in this respect.
