You know, it's okay to NOT have an opinion on a political event in a country you don't know much about.

BadEmpanada's been on a streak of absolutely terrible takes lately. Was there any particular catalyst for this?

I thought this was what he was always like. People here mentioned him only every now and again and I was always a little surprised because I thought he was a regular lib.

He's a staunch anti-zionist, so his profile grew lately. Now all his other bad opinions are coming to light.

I mean I agree with the title of the post, but please don't let YouTubers or streamers be the measure of our ignorance

Why do people care about what that sexpat gringo (all white male immigrants in Global south countries are sexpats unless proven otherwise) has to say?

Anyone else notice a lot of odd noise on social media over this? And I mean lots of denials that the US had anything to do with it. Maybe I’m paranoid, but I also notice this sort of thing when coups in Latin America happen, so makes sense that there would also be astroturfing regarding this event.

He is an arrogant guy and very abrasive. He says lot of baseless shit at times.

The whole affair in Bangladesh looks like a gladio op. Hasina at first took time to say ISI was involved. Now she is saying US interfered.

The small business loans, sks loan shit is from pierre omidyar and de soto who ran peru into the ground. Of course this yunus is also affiliated with them. I've seen too many news outlets pushing the "noble prize winner".

Funny that narayana murthy is also jumping in.

Situation surrounding Mizoram, Myanmar and Bangladesh has not been good. The refugee crisis since Myanmar coup has gotten worse. Even just recently rohingya people escaping died in a drone attack on a boat. It just gets worse.

    I see more escalation coming.

I like BE 80% of the time and think people often act hysterical about him, but fucking hell is he spiraling right now. Just doing contrarianism with no consistency

His work on Che is good, his stances on Israel are essentially perfect, his Columbus videos are not particularly Marxist but are good, his video on Fujimori is a great resource for a subject most english speaking leftists are utterly clueless on same goes for his Shining Path video. It is silly to treat his work as always generic western libshit. That would just be ignoring reality in the service of a clear narrative. We are better than that

You're telling me the guy behind this genius take is deeply ignorant about South Asia?
