I'll uh, I'll defend it. That pageant informed me that the demise of the empire is coming faster than expected.
Am I too jokerfied if I came away feeling mostly "entertained"? Like I know whichever of these old fucks is in charge next year they'll cosign some truly heinous shit but I have completely checked out from actually giving a shit about the outcome of this election, beyond leaving visible dents in the legitimacy of both bourgie parties by critically supporting an independent left candidate. I'm lining up behind Hawkins knowing he'll probably only get something like 1 or 2 percent of the popular vote, and knowing the Greens are kind of a meh party (besides maybe Hawkins's ecosocialist wing, which might have potential if they take over the party or split from the liberal/petty bourgie wing).
I mean 50% of americans belive that the earth is 10.000 years old and that evolucion isnt true.
Or is just people jerking themselves off over being “informed” because they read rephrased versions of the same 4 news articles all day?
Most likely
I'm glad the numbers don't add up to 100% because it means you can give multiple responses - I was annoyed, entertained, and pessimistic all at once.
The state of both candidates dementia of course.
Or proud boys marching orders.
My take: being pessimistic sort of implies that you had hopes for the political process of the country. Hope which has subsequently been thwarted by the nihilistc devotion towards the rulling class by the political elite and the fact that the best thing they could present us was these two senile oligarchs shitting their brains out on stage.
I think most of the people who wrote "Annoyed" correlate to the mass populance who generally don't care for politics and tune out when they see how both of them clearly do not offer any hope for the country.
I didn't realize I hated politics as much as I do now.
I am now more informed.
