MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - JAG High School will be holding school virtually Wednesday and Thursday due to a COVID outbreak, the school announced in a release.
According to the school, they made the decision to transition to “asynchronous learning” due to a high number of the school’s staff currently being absent with COVID.
The school is currently planning to be virtual for two days, with plans to asses Thursday if the school can safely reopen on Friday.
Lessons and classwork will be available on Schoology. Teachers will also email assignments to students using their school email addresses.
The school will be sanitized and thoroughly cleaned before reopening to students. When the school reopens, masks and disinfectant wipes will be available for students and staff.
“The health and safety of our students and staff are our top priorities,” the release reads. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your support as we work together to ensure a safe return for all JAG Jaguars.”

They're not talking about safe from Covid, they mean having enough staff to watch the kids.
I was also thinking, while it's cool if they're going remote to prevent Covid, it doesn't seem cool that they're kinda doing it to force those allegedly out with Covid to keep working.
Government money for schools is directly related to kid's butts in seats on the daily so it's more about that than forcing people to work sick. There not being enough teachers to cover the sick is just that same ol' secondary 'suck it' from capitalism we all know endemic in all industries now.

Since they mention this I'm assuming they didn't have either before the closure.
