    the security guards returned fire at a passing vehicle at one of the base's entrances.

    They did a drive by on a military installation and didn’t get caught. What on earth?

      Antosh confirmed that despite the seriousness of the event, the base was not put under lockdown.

      I'm going to make a wild guess and assume the shooters were white guys driving something like a F-150.

          If the vehicle had brown people in it - within the hour that the news broke right-wing media would start screaming about the likely "terrorist attack". Also - the Texas military would demand extraordinary civilian and fed kowtowing and they should lead the investigation (not the FBI or the local police) because it was a likely "terrorist attack" on military infrastructure.
