We were talking about the difficulty in getting some of our extended family here legally and they dropped this.

"Most socialist regimes have been voted into power but none have been voted out."

Because, despite and completely contrary to the implication, socialist governments were undemocratically couped by foreign and business interests.

Also the president is violating the constitution.

Section 2 of Article 3 states the president must "take care that the laws [passed by congress] be faithfully executed".

Well gee dang it if it hasn't been passed into law that "no security assistance may be provided to any country the government of which engages in a consistent pattern of gross violations of internationally recognized human rights."

So yeah honestly they're mostly right. I don't know if most socialist "regimes" were voted in, but beyond that they're basically 100% right

"international human rights" in US-speak just means the right for capital to move and infiltrate freely, like freedom means the freedom to exploit and security means the security of capital interests. All the American doublespeak makes so much more sense when you realize that "people" or "citizens" or "nations" always refer to a small group of rich assholes. If Israel ever starts killing billionaires instead of children, they'll be found in gross violation of human rights and international commitments in five seconds

If they started making digs at us like, "Communism is so unsustainable/fragile that the USSR voted itself out of existence," then they'd run the risk of learning what democracy actually means.

Even the mildest possible example that might be called socialism - mid century Sweden - got its dude fucking killed by NATO.

Lenin was elected to power by the Russian people, they have a system called "voting by bullet" where they vote against the people they don't want in power by firing the bullet at them

Given that most liberal "democracies" are built on entirely unfair rules (eg most votes doesn't necessarily win, third parties effectively banned), then I see no foundation for someone to criticise this new system.

Too bad that they used the wrong choice of to/too/two.

Love my serious socialist leader, Biden, Butcher of the Bourgeoisie, who will never be voted out.

On God America should just do give up the pretense of democracy and do the weird venetian shit to elect a president and have the rule for life. Would spare us the headache.

No more campaign ads where it's a racist-off between the (D) and (R) candidate on how much they love the police and hate minorities.

They'll never do it, there is way too much money bound up in the political show at this point, people who need to be paid to be kept on board would get pissed.

Most communist countries are created via a revolution by the people, but the people never conduct a revolution to get rid of it.
