    It's my understanding that the president of Ireland is basically a ceremonial position. The taoiseach is the one who actually has executive authority.

      It’s so low stake the two spineless neoliberal parties got behind a succdem president who likes to embarrass them in speeches about housing and healthcare.

      The last election the runner up candidate tapped into the deep hatred of the traveller ethnic group to jump from like 2% to 21% in the polls. That was when the country was a fraction as toxic.
