I have no idea. I thought it was a trans thing. Like a twitter joke about all trans people getting the blahaj shark from ikea.

I'm only familiar with the 196 community there, but the first thing they did was ban all communists so I can't say I'd be surprised if their anticommunism turned to fascism. shocked-pikachu

Pretty much the only people who can be legitimately anti-communist without decaying in to fash are Anarchists and Indigenous groups that don't want anything to do with a European political theory.

That was my assumption too. I don't browse it but yikes if there's right wing stuff on there. How you could even consider right wing while being trans or an ally IDK but that mind must have some serious core strength to do those kind of gymnastics

Right wing on geopolitical issues, like in my first level comment I just made, someone there thinks the Iraq war was good (thought their comment got removed so thats probably not acceptable thought there at least).

I would assume it to be at first until I see that almost everyone on that site seems to be alt-right

seems to be an anticommunist bent to it, plus hexbear's presence always seems to bring them out of the woodwork

Yeah I kinda just assumed the right-wing weirdos are showing up explicitly because of us. I've seen others be softly supportive of us.

the alt-right doesn't really have coherent views on geopolitics, they're just opportunism manifest. I wouldn't classify the people on blahaj as alt-right, especially because it's a primarily trans instance and the alt-right wants to genocide trans people. they're mostly liberals and we've gotten a couple of comrades from there to join hexbear.

It always appeared to me as quite more conservative compared to average. Maybe not alt-right but I certainly will avoid that instance in general as what it appears to be

dunno, maybe it's changed. there's plenty of shitlibs but there's also people defending and supporting hexbear. might be because we mandate pronoun tags, so it's more readily apparent that we're full-throated in our support of trans people? idk
