I was walking home from getting food when something called me to a gas station I was walking by. I had never been before, maybe they'd have an interesting selection. I gotta say, they really did. I walked to the front of the store and saw a bunch of walmart water bottles full of brown liquid in a cooler labeled "Kava". Right next to it was Betel Nuts with Betel leaves and lime paste. Normally wouldn't suggest buying mystery water bottles of brown liquid, but fuck it, I've done far sketchier things. I picked up some Kava and thought about the Betel Nuts, but decided to save that for next time. I've now drank about half the water bottle and the roof of my mouth feels funny, but I haven't noticed anything just yet. This will be my first time taking kava, so I'm curious how it goes
Fair warning, Kava doesn't always hit the first couple of times. It's a very warm and cozy kinda high tho. Good for socializing, even if it does taste like dirt.
Ive read that western Kava produced enmass doesnt necessarily work, because its easier to grow the strain of plant that doesnt produce enough of whatever gets you high
what ive taken from pharmaceutical companies was certainly, different from what i got to try in Fiji
I've never messed with pharmaceutical stuff myself. Bought powder from this online store and had good results. It was about 15 years ago tho, so ymmv.
Just a bit of a warning but bettel nuts really fuck up your teeth with long term use
Yeah I'm typically not one for chewing things, it's kinda just one of those things I wanna try one time for the one time
The mouth feeling you get from kava is so distinct! I did it several times and never felt anything but that though

Reminded me of chloraseptic spray tbh.
I love kava, I used to buy an anxiety soother tincture from Herbpharm that had kava and other things in it, I'd bring it to bars with me and put a ton in my water or whatever I'd be drinking, it helped a lot. I'd also take some before bed. Super pleasant and regulating
