Reddit allows you to view removed threads by visiting the poster's userpage or a direct link to the thread. It doesn't delete them, it just removes them from visibility in hot/new/frontpage. A reddit removal just removes all organic methods of finding a post. Except in the case of self-posts where removals also hide the text of the post too.
