For me it's tied with the Marines and Army, with Air Force being the dark horse

The US Marines would never pull off a coup. The USAF would immediately target shipments to them from defence contractor Crayola LLC, which would lead to starvation among Marine corps soldiers.

To be fair most coups in history couldn't rely on stable supply chains, if they did than they already failed

Instead, they relied on pre-prepared stockpiles, mobility and the element of surprise, I think even the crayon eaters could pull that off on a good day

It would most likely be a coalition of high level desk-jockies in leadership roles across branches.

The kind of people who decide on contracts and do the actual day to day business with the MIC contractors. These are some of the most paranoid, highly propagandized people on the planet. They're also often incredibly stupid and only have surface level understandings of the things they're in charge of.

These people coalesce at the scary geometric building. There may be a grab for power between branches as they don't like to share, but ultimately these bureaucrats would lead the proposed coup.

Why would any branch coup the government? I feel like they'd happily work with the current government to enforce fascism rather than create a military dictatorship

Yeah, came here to put my money on the coast guard as that would make the least sense possible lol

i don't think they'd pull it off. all that needs to happen is Gavin Newsom declaring support for the coup regime and the country is will immediately collapse as the military & chuds fall in on each other over whether the coup was woke

I mean you're not wrong, especially considering congress hasn't had the power to authorize a war since 1941 or some shit

Whoever is actually in the silos with the ICBMs since they seem like complete fucking lunatics to me even by American standards.
