there have been some commenters on the "world wide web" (eyeroll) that have said the IA was asking for trouble in removing restrictions from the lending library during the pandemic. that their leadership is foolish, stupid, and a bunch of other words that have nothing to do with helping people or learning

i say, fuck those commenters. i have learned a word from hexbear. it starts with a c and ends with a huds

The IA loaned digital copies of books they'd scanned. Only a certain amount of copies could be loaned at one time due to stupid copyright bullshit

During the pandemic they allowed unlimited copies to be loaned out at any time which made the copyright mafia big mad

They knowingly violated copyright. Sorry, can't excuse them

You can if you aren't a piece of shit who equates legality with morality.

If they want to change the regulations, then work on that

Notably, you have not produced any actionable suggestion for doing so.

Honestly, you should take a long walk off a short pier. And that pier should be over an active volcano.

If they want to change the regulations, then work on that. Blatantly violating them and challenging copyright holders doesn’t help anyone.

Have you studied history? Non-violently violating unjust laws is a means of working on that and striving to help others. Those responding as you have are no more helpful than you think those you criticize have been. If anything they're less so as their support may have been of greater help in changing things instead of letting them worsen.

The entirety of MLK's civil rights career was basically breaking segregation laws lol.

Copyright violations are such victimless crimes and yet people still get upset when some billion dollar company misses out on $20 worth of sales.
