Only a putrid lib would suck up to a cop apologist just because they were a guest on your lib ass podcast that barely did anything to attempt to mobilize people for blm and didn't even participate themselves
fuck em, they were too busy being sad their electoralism failed them that they failed to take action to defend and promote worker solidarity in the largest display of interracial solidarity against the violent forces of capitol in our lifetime. Actual uprisings in the streets, class antagonisms bubbling to the surface so much that it was all anyone could talk about
That episode was just Will and Amber. Amber is still sus, but Will has supported BLM on episodes before and after that one, went to protests, and I think he was part of the chapofym bail fund fundraiser stream.
Matt said in a cushvlog that they've had a policy of being nice to guests even if they have bad opinions ever since the episode where they fought with the tradcath guy. I'm guessing that Will regretted having Taibbi on, but had to be nice to him during the episode. There's no good reason for Amber saying stupid shit like "cops are workers", though. Really the worst chapo episode ever.
they were clearly pro blm and matt marched with them. don’t know about the others. was there a need to encourage mobilization? people were already pretty mobilized.
Yeah, I don't remember. I mostly think of the podcast as "that dumb thing I enjoy sometimes," which I guess keeps me from getting too mad about bad takes, but I did consider not listening anymore after the Taibbi episode. They've had some good episodes after that though.
To be clear none of the anger in these comments is directed at you in any way, just ranting about the very online thing I'm mad about
but to be even clearer, yes they should have been mobilizing and signal boosting and educating and not talking to cop apologists but revolutionary activists who have experience tussling with police and defending their comrades in the streets.
Iirc it was a few episodes earlier when they also had qualms about statues being taken down. Will was very concerned where this was going to go, will they come for washington, is nobody safe. Matt wasn't much better with his conclusion that BLM taking down statues was an empty symbol and therefore proof they were useless as a movement (he might have worded it less drastic with more caveats).
It's nice they later went to protests anyways, but I don't need such takes.
Idk, maybe they should just take a break for a month or two, and maybe even log off for a few days.
Cpac on acid... that was something. Discussions of bad tv, but not bad enough to be interesting again just makesme tired.
!traphouse@hexbear.net
but also fuck the podcast, fuckin bougie cop apologists
hmm, i’m already subbed, guess it never makes it to the front page
they have 95% good takes. that episode with taibbi was bad. i don’t consider it canon (lol), i think they were sucking up to him.

and they sat there sucking up to a cop defender

which is the episode where they fought with a tradcath guy?
it was never released as an episode, they just left it on the editing room floor and recorded a different episode that week
I think that they took it off everywhere else because they hated the episode so much, but Brendan put it on youtube:

The best episode of all time. They need to invite on more cranks
alrighty then
they were clearly pro blm and matt marched with them. don’t know about the others. was there a need to encourage mobilization? people were already pretty mobilized.
Will and Felix marched too. That Taibbi episode was dogshit though.
if I recall it took a long while before any of them got involved, but I could also be wrong or blinded by rage

That's totally fair :)

Brace was as much of a "cop apologist" on TrueAnon as Amber/Will were on the Taibbi episode
