Personally I like round but I live with square if that's all they have. I found round easier to eat since you can fold it if you want. Actually I don't know if square is a thing out west or if it's strictly east coast.

In general I prefer round thin crust pizza, but there’s something about square cut thick crust Detroit style pizza that hits nice sometimes

detroit style is usually square, so its definitely a thing outside the east coast, but idk about the west coast, that's like a foreign country

also you mean pieces of pizza or whole pies?

because round pizza cut into squares is also a thing

One of the better local chains in my area does this and it drives me nuts lol.

I always referred to those as a tavern cut. Good for sharing with your beer drinking buddies at the watering hole.

We had a local place that imploded due to money laundering or something, but they'd cut their normal pies into standard wedges but cut their thin crust pies into squares. Both pies were round. It never made sense to me but I also never asked. I could easily eat a whole thin crust pie by myself in one sitting though.

I love a good Sicilian, but typically round. Places that make Sicilian, in my experience, make a better pizza overall though. Excluding Little Caesars and the other chains.
