I don't know what it is with libs and leftists, but half of us have some incessant need to pretend that the enemy's wife/daughter/son/aunt is "secretly on our side the whole time"

I've never understood this, it's cringe and annoying and the literal definition of the word cope

Melania is trash.

Barron is just a kid, but statistically speaking there's like a 99% chance he also turns out to be trash. You don't have to bash him, but why praise him when he's literally done/said nothing?

Claudia Conway at least spoke out against her mother. Of course she's still just a lib at most, but I can understand a lib stanning her.

Jokes about Hunter Biden and Donald Jr. come to mind. Statements which illustrate just how untalented and undeserving these people are of all the privilage

Absolutely agree. I'm talking solely about the apologia, the humanization, the "this kid is cool because he probably hates his dad just like us, even though we've seen literally zero indication of that being true"

Yeah, this is the epitome of parasocial politics. "Word cope" is the perfect description. These people have absolutely no frame of reference for interpreting world events besides fantasy.

        You made me realize something

        • Obsessed with comparisons to Harry Potter/starwars/Naruto/etc
        • Still unironically think that the US was a force for good prior to Trump
        • Always go high when they go low
        • Love to humanize your opponents relatives

All of this jives with a fictional framework. They have consumed so much fiction, and fiction is such a large part of their identity, that it's literally all they know. When they learn history, they learn it through the lens of a fictional battle between good and evil, where people do things because it's "morally right", and not for their self-interest or the self-interests of their country.

They think the US is good, because they're US citizens, so obviously the US has to be the "good guys" bc otherwise they'd be bad people.

They "go high when we go low" because all fiction is full of these moralistic "self-cuckings", with the hero eventually winning DESPITE it.

They humanize their enemies bc they love the idea of these unexpected twists,"having a spy on the inside", etc.

basically they're literal children. Fiction is their world, and everything is just a story/film for them. There is no actual intellectual curiosity, just intellectual calmness (as opposed to the right wing). They want to be entertained first, everything else later.
