one of my friends dads was deployed there in the 80s. he said one time the Zionists killed 3 French guys he was deployed with and it got covered up. it's happened a number of times with the UN I think.

Small anecdote from wikipedia about Norwegian troops in the 1990s helping prisoners escape an israeli blacksite in Lebanon

A 2010 book published by Norwegian journalist Odd Karsten Tveit revealed that the Norwegian Army was complicit in the escape of two Lebanese men who were arrested by the Israeli Army and being held in Khiam prison. According to the book, in 1992, two detained Lebanese men escaped from Khiam prison. Fearing that they would face torture or execution if caught by the Israel Defense Forces or South Lebanon Army, the soldiers dressed the detainees in UN uniforms, and placed them in a UNIFIL convoy which left Southern Lebanon through Israeli roadblocks. Shortly afterward, Israeli Army commander Moshe Tamir visited the Norwegian battalion's camp, and accused Norwegian commander Hagrup Haukland of "sheltering terrorists". Immediately after the confrontation, the Lebanese men were smuggled onto a bus used by Norwegian peacekeepers on leave, which took them to Beirut.

this was under criticisms of UNIFIL, and I'm posting it to demonstrate its an open secret how fucked the idf is

From what I understand the EU has a similar “Attack on one is an attack on all” defense pact as NATO. Imagining a world where Ireland drags France and Germany kicking and screaming into a war with Israel.

They would say that the Israeli attack was accidental and didn't intended to kill and that they should not be there anyway. This would not be said by France or Germany, but for the Irish government itself.

There is absolutely no chance the EU would join in the defense of any member state. NATO yes, because like 50% of European politicians are neoliberal true believers, but the EU? Nah.

I think you’re totally right but also think that’s very strange. Personally, I would be more likely to honor my defense pact with my close knit economic bloc than the rabid dogs across the ocean who drag us into shit all the time

Oh I'm down in Naqoura, where I long to be, lying in the dark with my provo company, a comrade to me left and another one to me right, and a clip of ammunition in my little armalite.

When the army came to visit me, t'was in the early hours, with Merkavas, old cluster bombs, and Plasan Armored Cars

They thought they had me cornered but then I had them wrecked, with me armor-piercing rockets of me little Saegheh
