At the founding of the United States, George Washington was the wealthiest man on the continent. This dump has always been an oligarchy.

These arguments that chuds make for the senate, the electoral college, etc all just boil down to "well that's how the founding fathers set it up so of course it's what we should do! It's what we've always done!" Yeah well, so what? The founding fathers never took a scientific, evidence-based approach to any of this. This idea of a "tyranny of the majority" was just something they came up with out of their asses. We now have 250 years of global data on democracy. What we know is that pretty much tyranny of the majority doesn't exist. Most democratic countries are much more "direct" democracies than we are, and they don't have "tyranny of the majority" issues. The healthiest democracies are those where the will of the people is held in the highest regard - places like the Scandinavian countries, and Cuba (yeah, Cuba is way more democratic than we are). The argument that we should keep the senate because that's how we've always done it is so lame.

(And yes I skipped over a lot about the founding fathers class interests, I was only addressing one specific argument chuds make)
