"Beijing “wants to show the people [back] in China how American people welcome Xi,” said Gao Guangjun, a New York-based lawyer who escaped China following the Tiananmen Square massacre and is familiar with the Chinese diaspora in the United States. “It’s propaganda,” he added, “that’s the reason they spend a lot of money on it.”

You really sure you wanna go bar for bar on money spent on propaganda because you Americans will win all the time desolate

What qualifies this random NY lawyer to speak for the entirety of the diaspora? Of course the WaPo found a “one of the good ones” wannabe kapo to shit all over the bad ones for insufficient white-worship.

Chinese diplomats and pro-China diaspora groups based in the United States organized demonstrations in San Francisco that harassed and silenced protesters opposed to Beijing’s policies, including through violence, during Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s visit to the city in November, a six-month investigation by The Washington Post shows.

The events in San Francisco illustrate how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is willing to extend its intolerance of any dissent into the United States and target people exercising their First Amendment rights in an American city. It is part of a broader global pattern of China attempting to reach beyond its borders and suppress parts of its diaspora advocating against the CCP and ongoing rights abuses in Tibet, Xinjiang, Hong Kong and mainland China, the U.S. government and human rights groups say

Their harassing intolerance of dissent and silencing of our good american protestors

our first amendment free speech counter-protests (by fascists against anti-racists and anti-imperialists we arbitrarily label 'outside agitators') fedposting

I remember when the Charlottesville pigs stood by and did nothing while being alerted of a 6-man crew of open neo-nazis were at that exact moment beating DeAndre Harris to a pulp in the parking garage right next to their headquarters. They didn't even get him medical attention until 30 minutes after, and then charged him with assault.

Also this shit is laughable when you think about US-backed Maidan in comparison. Fuck you amerikkka and WaPo and all cops too. acab

Students for a Free Tibet and the Hong Kong Democracy Council in late July published a joint report on the events at APEC, which The Post also referenced. Additionally, The Post worked with Audrye Wong, a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and an assistant professor of political science and international relations at the University of Southern California, who has extensively researched China’s foreign influence efforts.

It's interesting to see Vice, the media outlet that was founded by the same guy who started the Proud Boys, pointing out that the Alt-Right is full of shit.

He co-founded Vice magazine in 1994 at the age of 24 and relocated to the United States in 2001. In 2016 he founded the Proud Boys, an American far-right militant organization[2] which was designated a terrorist group in Canada

He was ousted later on for being a shit head. I forget if it was for being a sex pest or if it was creating a hostile work environment. McInnes is also credited with creating the modern hipster aesthetic, so even more reason he's going in the pit.

the United Front Work Department, an arm of the Communist Party that uses non-state actors to further China's political goals overseas, blurring the lines between civilians and state officials

Is this where you're supposed to apply to get paid for posting?

One of the few parts of the article i believe:

Lu did not respond to multiple emailed requests for comment and told a Post reporter who visited his office in Los Angeles to leave the premises.
