I think abolishing hangovers should be high on the list of socialist goals. Did Marx or maybe Lenin ever write about this?

Former tool of imperialism. We mainly just use pedialyte. There is a lot of IV rehydration but generally that's for heat casualties or needle practice because dehydration doesn't normally get that severe unless you're in a warzone and with an IV you're stuck monitoring the patient to some degree. IV hydration was done informally as barracks medicine but that's mainly an oh-shit thing for your friends when they find out that they have watch the morning after drinking. In sick call settings it isn't particularly common because the patient then takes up an exam room and supplies while hypokalemia is usually an ER visit.

Everyone should own pedialyte. It's fantastic shit. If you have a med kit for outdoors things, you should have pedialyte.

That could go either way. I spent a shitload of time giving drunks IVs but I also had the combat medic NEC and worked as a fire medic. My patients were all those severe enough to warrant an ambulance or emergency room visit. If he worked infantry or in the acute side of a hospital then there is a lot of putting things in arms and asses.

That was probably IV city for heat casualties but I don't know how prevalent drinking was given the official ban on it.

          Vodka.

Orange juice helps a bit but it sucks regardless. That's just the mineral content I think. Gatorade technically does the same thing but the effect isn't as good as pedialyte.
