I think abolishing hangovers should be high on the list of socialist goals. Did Marx or maybe Lenin ever write about this?

      I really do. Notice I said the "need" to drink. I also think alcohol would only be a handful of peoples first choice recreational drug.

        Drinking is fun, and it’s been an important part of human societies since forever, but on the other hand people absolutely self-medicate with it and use it as an unhealthy coping mechanism for a lot of things, but specifically for totally correct feelings of alienation under capitalism. Not in any way speaking from personal experience btw.
