now that it has become an extermination camp, they can call it a prison.

when it was a prison, they couldn't call it that.

one day, they will call that extermination camp "israeli settlements"

    disgusting.

jesus did cameron actually coin the "open-air prison" phrase?

That's bleak. libs are just waking up to what a conservative PM admitted in 2010, when the reality is now so so much worse

edit: oh thank god lol he did not coin it. it had been in widespread use prior to 2007 according to an old article I found

No one can ever justify the brutality of the Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7th, but the brutal conditions that Israel and Egypt have imposed on the citizens of Gaza help to explain the motivations for that invasion. There are two compelling factors that stand out in any examination of the crisis in Gaza: the persistent intransigence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Israeli unwillingness to pursue a diplomatic and political solution to the Palestinian tragedy. Like a long line of Israeli politicians, Netanyahu favors total humiliation of the Palestinian people. The Hamas invasion of October 7th was inevitable.

Was good but the last paragraph made me feel weird- 1. it's not just Netanyahu, 2. if it's a prison as we established then it seems weird to then call it 'the Hamas invasion' rather than 'the Gaza prison break/ghetto uprising of October 7th'

The Gaza Ghetto Uprising feels like the strongest and most accurately descriptive term for this outside of the Gaza Genocide

This is just the same "too late to change things so let's drop the act" BS they did with the calls for ceasefire. We've already moved on from Gaza being a prison; it's now a death camp of a size and scale beyond the wildest dreams of any Nazi race scientist, so now the NYT and thus the media/political sphere will call it a "prison" as if the role of any prison is to systematically eradicate every man, woman, and child within its walls.

British Prime Minister David Cameron charged the Israels with creating a “big outdoor prison” in Gaza

    David Cameron is Khamas?

Shit man, is there a single issue on which Labour haven't moved miles to the right of David 'the UN want to have words about your domestic policies' Cameron
