Millions of people are about to be evicted and their solution is to wait three months, check a box, wait another three months, and pray for legislation.

Its important to decive yourself that you actually do something. How else could they live with themself?

Reminds me of all the people crying and gnashing their teeth because they can't bring their reusable bags for bulk goods and produce where I work. Like fuck, your personal post consumer waste isn't what's killing the planet and if you're not simultaneously advocating global socialist revolution then shut the fuck up.

As we all know, the best way to convince someone to vote for your candidate is to equate them with Mussolini

"I'm not complicit! I'm voting within a broken system in the hopes that someone from the top fixes things! And no that's not now authoritarianism gets reinforced, this is d e m o c r a c y sweaty"

Huh. This struck a little close to home. I understand in broad principle because what they're saying, but it's so blindingly fucking ignorant that I can't pull off the mental gymnastics to not just get seething mad at this nuclear shit take. People are like "lol Mussolini isn't that bad - he's Italian they can't do wars eeeyyy boppity-boopy bippity boppa." One day we're all gonna have an awkward talk about this Jersey goombah stereotyping shit, too, but let's stay on topic: Fascists are bad. Just because the guy who did it first didn't get the high score for being bad doesn't mean it still wasn't supremely fucked up even by the ghoulish standards of our present day.

We've got the horrors of imperialism in Ethiopia and Libya as a starting point - I don't need to rehash those too much. Mussolini's regime also did cultural genocide of Ladin- and Austrian-speaking peoples in Trentino-Südtirol, and a campaign of fascist terror/actual killing-people genocides of Slovenes, Croats and other Slavic peoples in Istria and Dalmatia. The fascists conducted campaigns of repression, torture, physical violence, and terrorism against dissidents internally along with gross social and economic injustices to many Italian peoples. Mussolini - again an actual fascist - should never be the benchmark for any comparison unless it's people who escaped sufficient punishment for their crimes.

Eh. I tend to be less angry at folks like this, with the huge caveat that 'if you're gonna vote for Biden, you goddamn well better be doing a lot more than voting the rest of the time'.

I'm not voting for Biden, but honestly that's a choice every leftist needs to make for themselves. But anyone who thinks they're a leftist who's entire political activity is posting and voting every 2-4 years is utterly delusional and needs to be mocked.

Y'know, a few months ago I was arguing with some lib on facebook and said the same thing, that it's either Mussolini or Hitler. Glad to see someone with brainworks use that as an argument for voting for Biden
