Its hard to find documents on the net anymore, but when the sanctions regime between gulf war i and the second invasion killed god knows how many hundreds of thousands of iraqis they made some kind of claim that Saddam convinced all the demographers to change their results to exaggerate the death toll. They did not explain how saddam would do that or what the census people would comply.

I wish i'd somehow been able to retain all these documents. People who can just keep and organze and search vast amounts of data, citations, documents, have a very sharp sword at hand.

Yeah. There's not much discussion of Jewish concentration camp prisoners being forced to remain in the camps, prevented from leaving to return home, sometimes under the same guards the nazis had employeed. There were a lot of places in the western zones where there were real fears the locals would re-start the killing, especially early after the end oft the war.

Yeah, they do this every time. They stop counting and just stick with the same number. It's the most memory hole 1985 double think ass shit. It plainly, obviously, cannot possibly be true. It can't be true. But they keep using the number from the start of whatever massacre month after month, year after year.
