I still don't know how a "GPA" works and at this point I'm not sure I ever will. I've watched enough TV shows set in American high schools to know that it's basically your exam results? But how it's calculated and if low numbers are good or high numbers are good or what the fuck ever is a total mystery to me.
A = 4.0 (Highest possible GPA) B=3.0 C= 2.0 etc, with + and - grades being middle steps. All your grades for all your classes are then averaged to an overall gpa, between 4.0 and 0. Special classes like AP, IB, or college classes have some fuck shit where they count for more, let’s say you get a 4.0 in a single AP, that 4.0 will bring your overall GPA up higher than a 4.0 in a regular class, though I don’t know the math on that. It’s fucking stupid because a single F will tank your GPA and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Where I went to school AP classes bumped your GPA up one (A=5, B=4, etc.)
